Here are some screenshots I've made
As a GNU/linux user, one often feels compelled to make screenshots of the desktop to capture its look.
Even in this day and age, its not uncommon to find people who still think that linux has no GUI. After telling people that I am a linux user,
I have frequently been asked what its like to work from a "restrictive" command-line interface, or CLI. I always tell these people that,
far from feeling restricted by the command-line(I feel truly liberated in the use of a computer by operating in the shell) linux and unix
can be controlled from a GUI. The X-Window System allows extraordinary GUI capabilities on top of linux, BSD or
unix kernels. Of course, the open-source nature of all these software projects allow for vast and rich variety, from the very minimal, right up to the
full blown feature-rich DE's available.
DE's(desktop environments) and window managers for unix and linux are so varied and customizable, its often worthwile
to make screenshots. Since I started using linux back in 2004, I have had a wide variety of DE's and window managers at my
fingertips. I started off with KDE, and then used fluxbox
for a while. For a brief spell I checked out Enlightenment.
After this I tested out and enjoyed Xfce. Now I have been using
Gnome for about a year.
